The Art of Stained Glass I use a wide variety of materials and techniques to achieve designs that complement the architecture and interior design. My art glass pieces include a range full of different rolled glasses, range glasses, bevels, prisms and jewels, as well as varied lead line widths. Mosaics are a contemporary play of diverse earth materials, assembled in a collage fashion. From a distance, the materials soften into a rich artistic statement.Closer viewing offers a delightful tactile experience and insight into the creative process. Materials include stone, marble, real gold / silver / copper leaf fused inside glass, cakes, tiles and hand made ceramics.Textures vary from the gloss of polished marble, to rough cuts of stone. The diverse materials in a finished mosaic catch the light individually, making it appear to dance across the surface as the viewer changes perspective. Mosaic Plate The incredible transitional lighting effects of stained glass is revealed in the two pictures above. Top picture shows the light from the front of the stained glass piece as well as the scale and the picture directly above is showing the piece with backlighting. The steps below demonstrate some of the steps in the process of this art. The finished piece is shown just above.
